Whatever adventure means to you — whether it’s hopping on the back of a mountain bike, hunting from a treestand, or camping with the family in the middle of nowhere — CURT Class 1 hitches offer a lightweight trailer hitch receiver to help you get out there. Each one is designed to fit a specific vehicle, providing easier installation, a better fit, and optimal towing capacity. Custom Class 1 trailer hitches are available for a variety of small vehicle types, including compact cars, crossovers, minivans, and small SUVs. This Class 1 hitch is designed as a custom-fit hitch for certain model years of the Scion iQ (to check vehicle compatibility, see the CURT application guide at curtmfg.com). Tested in accordance with SAE J684 standards, it offers a towing capacity of 1,000 lb GTW and 150 lb TW. It features a 1-1/4" receiver tube opening to accept a ball mount or other hitch-mounted accessory. This Class 1 hitch also includes all necessary mounting hardware. With its lightweight design and smaller receiver tube size, a Class 1 hitch is particularly useful for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted bike rack or cargo carrier. They can also generally be used to tow small trailers such as a utility trailer, kayak trailer, or teardrop trailer (never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component, including the vehicle, hitch, trailer, etc.). Although CURT Class 1 trailer hitches are intended only for light-duty towing, we apply the same quality standards as we do to the rest of our rear hitches. Each Class 1 hitch is manufactured with hands-on engineering, high-strength steel, and precision welding. We use a co-cured A-coat finish inside and out, along with a durable black powder coat, to provide lasting defense against rust, chips, and UV rays.
