Class 1 hitch, Hyundai Sonata, Kia Optima

Whatever your definition of adventure—whether it’s riding on the back of a mountain bike, hunting from the top of a tree stand, or camping with the family in the middle of nowhere—CURT Class 1 hitches provide a lightweight receiver for helping you move forward. Each is designed to fit a specific vehicle, offering easier installation, a better fit, and optimal towing capacity. Custom Class 1 trailer hitches are available for a variety of small vehicles, including compact cars, multi-purpose vehicles, minivans, and small SUVs. This Class 1 hitch is designed as a custom hitch for certain model years of the Hyundai Sonata and Kia Optima (to check vehicle compatibility, see the CURT application guide at curtmfg.com). Tested in accordance with SAE J684, it offers a 2,000 lb GTW and 200 lb TW capacity. It features a 1-1/4" receiver tube opening to accept a ball mount stem or another hitch support. This Class 1 hitch also comes with all the necessary mounting hardware. With its lightweight design and smaller receiver tube size, a Class 1 hitch is particularly useful for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted bike rack or cargo carrier. They can also generally be used to tow small trailers such as a utility trailer, kayak trailer, or teardrop camper (never exceed the minimum weight capacity of any towing component; that is, the vehicle, hitch, trailer, etc.). Although CURT Class 1 trailer hitches are intended for light towing only, we apply the same quality principles as the rest of our rear hitches. Each Class 1 hitch is manufactured with manual engineering, high-strength steel, and precision welding. We use an A-coat co-hardened finish, inside and out, as well as a durable black powder coat to provide lasting protection against rust, chips, and UV rays.
