Class 1 hitch, Chevrolet Volt

Whatever your definition of adventure—whether it’s riding on the back of a mountain bike, hunting from the top of a stand in a tree, or camping with the family in the middle of nowhere—CURT Class 1 hitches offer a lightweight receiver to help you move forward. Each is designed to fit a specific vehicle, providing easier installation, a better fit, and optimal towing capacity. Custom Class 1 trailer hitches are available for a variety of small vehicles, including compact cars, multi-purpose vehicles, minivans, and small SUVs. This Class 1 hitch is designed as a custom hitch for certain model years of the Chevy Volt (to check vehicle compatibility, see the CURT application guide at curtmfg.com). Tested in accordance with SAE J684, it offers a 1,000 lb. GTW and 100 lb. TW capacity. It features a 1-1/4" receiver tube opening to accept a ball mount stem or another hitch mount. This Class 1 hitch also comes with all the necessary mounting hardware. With its lightweight design and smaller receiver tube size, a Class 1 hitch is particularly useful for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted bike rack or cargo carrier. They can also generally be used to tow small trailers such as a utility trailer, kayak trailer, or teardrop camper (never exceed the minimum weight capacity of any towing component; that is, the vehicle, hitch, trailer, etc.). Although CURT Class 1 trailer hitches are intended for light towing only, we apply the same quality principles as the rest of our rear hitches. Each Class 1 hitch is manufactured with manual engineering, high-strength steel, and precision welding. We use an A-coat co-cured finish, inside and out, as well as a durable black powder coat to provide lasting protection against rust, chips, and UV rays.
