Arai Logo 3D Duct
Immediately noticeable, the new Arai Logo 3D duct (as thin as possible, at 3.5mm depth) feeds two 10mm central intake ports. This is a first for an Arai, and it is entirely due to the strength of the PB-cLc2 and the shell construction. It also works very well at low speeds and with an upright riding position; at just 50 km/h, it channels an additional 40% airflow, and at 120 km/h, a 7% flow. It can also be opened or closed, easily with summer or winter gloves, via a low-stroke lever placed on top; if the rider cannot see the lever and the logo is in its normal place, the duct is open. The Arai Logo duct is designed to break away in the event of an impact.

Aerodynamic one-piece rear exhaust spoiler
The aerodynamic one-piece rear spoiler/exhaust, operated by a 3-way switch, is inspired by the Corsair-X’s DF-X2 but redesigned for touring use; however, it has been tested up to 300 km/h at Suzuka. It sits slightly further forward on the shell and is fed by 3 ports in the shell. As part of the Contour-X’s complete ventilation system, it effectively extracts air, but also straightens the airflow over (and to the side of) the helmet, improving stability and reducing buffeting, especially when overtaking at high speeds. The result is much less rider fatigue. As thin and light as possible, it is designed to crush or break away in the event of an impact and therefore has no influence on protective performance.

Chin vent
Another new feature is the sliding three-position chin vent (open, halfway, and closed), which allows for an increase in the volume of air drawn in and features a replaceable filter. The actuation mechanism is thicker and easy to operate with gloves.

Intercom housing
Designed to easily install and connect a communication system on the exterior of the shell, without compromising the protection offered by the inner EPS liner.

Outer shell: PB--cLc2 (Complex Laminate Construction with Peripheral Belt)
The design of the Contour-X outer shell draws an elegant organic shape and uses PB-cLc2 for lightweight strength and integrated side ducts. The AR-mat material has been replaced by a new material that allows for weight reduction, while maintaining strength. An additional layer of Super Fiber belt maintains rigidity in a crucial area while offering flat sides to facilitate the mounting of an intercom system.

Variable Axis System (VAS)
With VAS, the visor mounting position is lowered, yielding an average of 24 mm more across both temples, in pursuit of an ideal smoother shape that increases the ability to glance off energy. As a result, this has allowed more of the shell to be smoother along and above the Snell standard test line.

5 mm wider opening
The exclusive shell widens by 5 mm around the opening, which facilitates putting the helmet on and taking it off (for those new to Arai, the initial feeling of “tightness” when putting the helmet on or taking it off can be a challenge).

Neck roll cable pocket
A small opening sewn into the inside of the neck roll allows the intercom system installer to easily store excess wiring that may remain after speaker installation. For a finished look and a clean, pleasant ride.
