ProTaper’s revolutionary self-engaging launch system (SELA) solves a problem faced by motocross riders of every skill level: setting up a standalone starting device by yourself is, at best, laborious and, at worst, impossible. With its patent-pending self-engaging knob, the SELA system is easy to set up without assistance, giving riders the freedom to practice starts on their own and line up for races by themselves.

At the start, the SELA temporarily compresses the bike’s front suspension, reducing its tendency to wheelie under acceleration. This optimizes rear-wheel traction, giving riders more confidence to open the throttle and launch straight ahead with greater control.

Its exclusive modular design allows the SELA system to be installed on most late-model stock motocross bikes. The double-jointed receiver ring allows for quick, convenient installation without removing the front wheel or fork.
