Whatever your definition of adventure — whether it’s climbing onto the back of a mountain bike, hunting from a tree stand, or camping with the family far from anywhere — CURT Class 1 hitches provide a lightweight receiver to help you Get Out There. Each one is designed to fit a specific vehicle, offering easier installation, a better fit, and optimal towing capacity. Custom Class 1 trailer hitches are available for a variety of smaller vehicle types, including compact cars, crossovers, minivans, and small SUVs. This Class 1 hitch is designed as a custom-fit hitch for select model years of the Hyundai Elantra and Elantra Coupe (to check vehicle compatibility, consult the CURT application guide at curtmfg.com). Tested in accordance with SAE J684 standards, it offers a 2,000 lb. GTW and 200 lb. TW capacity. It features a 1-1/4" receiver tube opening to accept a ball mount or other hitch-mounted accessory. This Class 1 hitch also includes all the necessary mounting hardware. With its lightweight design and smaller receiver tube, a Class 1 hitch is especially useful for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted bike rack or cargo carrier. They can also generally be used to tow small trailers such as utility trailers, kayak trailers, or teardrop campers (never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component, including the vehicle, hitch, trailer, etc.). Although CURT Class 1 trailer hitches are intended for light-duty towing only, we apply the same quality principles as we do to the rest of our rear hitches. Each Class 1 hitch is made with hands-on engineering, high-strength steel, and precision welding. We use a co-cured A-coat finish inside and out, along with a durable black powder coat, to provide lasting protection against rust, chipping, and UV rays.
